Staying warm in winter can be a challenge for humans.
As cold weather settled in, shivering folks resorted to sweaters, scarves, coats, hats, hoods, gloves, boots and more to keep warm.
For the birds of winter, fluffed-up feathers are about all they have going for them.
Still, eagles, wild turkeys and even Canada geese (if the ponds and other bodies of water don’t freeze over) can be found in various spots across the Illinois Valley during cold weather.
